In 2020, Violette Taquet embarks on the vast Eunomart project. Let's take a closer look at her background and vision !

How did you first get involved in the art world?
Violette: My parents were collectors, so art was part of my world from a very young age. Later, after graduating from business school, I joined Artsper, where I spent four years immersed in the art market. That experience gave me the keys to understanding its structure, its challenges, and its constant transformations.
It was actually through conversations with countless galleries that the idea for Eunomart began to take shape. I realized that beyond exhibitions, sales, and collectors, there was a hidden challenge nobody really wanted to tackle: compliance.
What exactly sparked the creation of Eunomart?
Violette: I wanted to respond to a problem that is as pressing as it is complex in today’s art market: the 5th European Anti-Money Laundering Directive. By imposing a strict legal framework, it directly clashed with the values of confidentiality and exclusivity that had long defined the art world.
That’s when I knew a solution was needed. With my team, we set out to transform a dense legal text into something practical: first by translating obligations into clear steps, then by building a branching system of vigilance measures covering every possible scenario. Finally, we designed a risk-assessment tool that delivers a secure, efficient, and complete compliance process—tailored for art professionals.
Who makes up your team, and what is your mission?
Violette: Our team has grown steadily since the very beginning. Rémi Lefort, my co-founder and Eunomart’s CTO, and Solène Clément, lawyer at the Paris Bar and President of OLAB, were there when the very first version of Eunomart launched in April 2022. Since then, a few more talented people have joined us, creating a dynamic, motivated team committed to one thing: making compliance simple and useful.
Our mission? To give art market professionals back their time. By handling these complex legal processes for them, we allow them to focus on what truly matters—their art.
As an entrepreneur, what challenges did you face?
Violette: Once we had built Eunomart, the next big challenge was trust. We had to convince the market not only that our tool was legally sound, but also that client data would remain safe and confidential.
Thankfully, early supporters such as Jacques Lacoste, Piasa, Negropontes, and Perahia placed their trust in us right away. Today, more and more professionals are joining them. That’s one of the most rewarding validations of our work.
What’s your secret to leading the Eunomart team?
Violette: At Eunomart, we believe leadership is about communication and simplicity. I make it a point to foster open discussions about the market, client feedback, and even the hesitations of those still unsure about using the platform. This ensures we keep evolving. And, of course, we make sure to celebrate our victories together—it’s an essential part of our culture.
